Winner from Thanaghazi from Alwar, Bhadana is 47 years old. He is a LLB and MA from Alwar and Udaipur University. He won the seat in 2008 also. Bhadana is a first time minister.
Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje had introduced austerity measures when she took over in Dec 2013. Some said BJP was following on the lines of AAP, which had won in Delhi.
Bhadana had then said : “It is AAP who is following us and it is not the other way round.”
Bhadana is from Gujjar community and has handled the Gujjar negotiations for Raje even when she was not in power. Raje trusts him more than any other Gujjar leader in BJP. Another strong Gujjar leader is Prahlad Gunjal from Kota but somebody who can go against Raje. But Raje prefers loyal people and Bhadana fits the bill. He has tactfully handled the Gujjars during the protests. The recurring Gujjar agitation has been a constant headache for Raje in 2008, 2010 and 2015 again. This time too Bhadana handled the situation till the government gave in to their demand of 5 % reservation in government jobs and quotas in educational institutions under the Special Backward Class Bill.
Bhadana had been accused of using unparliamentary language in Assembly too. More recently, his son Surendra Bhadana was booked for eve teasing girls in Alwar.
Meanwhile, the locals have accused police of shielding the minister’s son.
