Bandeep Singh, photo editor of Fortune India had this in mind while addressing a seminar organised by the Imagine Photojournalist Society of Jaipur. He said today photos are being uploaded on social media sites in accordance with the population and we are viewing the world through these photos and making new neighbours. Such is the power of photo. Photograph is no more a choice, it is a habit now.
The seminar was to get the youth and those aspiring to venture into photojournalism and journalism to connect with the experts in the field.
Siddharth Vardarajan, the editor of The Wire, who also addressed one of the sessions said we have to think of devising new ways of journalism, not in terms of doing social work but whether it is time to think are the families in newspaper business really churning out news and whether news is really being read in terms of news.
There were other speakers, like Vipul Mudgal, of CSDS who said technology is influencing every facet of life including journalism and one has to keep pace with it.
There were other eminent speakers and journalist Satish Pednekar and photo journalist Prashant Panjir
