Thousands of students tried to create a world record in Jaipur today when they sang the national song Vande Mataram together at a pre-event function of Hindu Spiritual and Service Fair. Students of at least 100 colleges and 400 schools participated in the rendering of Vande Mataram in soul stirring manner at Janpath in the morning.
At least 120 students played sitar before the song recital, making it a unique event witnessed by the Pink City.
While the organisers claimed the event to be a world record, Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and central minister of state for information and broadcasting Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore also graced the occasion.
Raje made the students promise to protect their Ganga, earth, environment, cattle, trees, nature, women and respect their parents, teachers and elders alike.
