Jaipur, Jan 11: Following the Pathankot episode, India is on high alert. While defence minister Manohar Parrikar threatened today saying ‘those who had inflicted pain on India “will also feel the pain”, referring to the Pathankot terror attack while addressing army officers, the Border Security Force (BSF) has already started its exercise Operation Alert along the entire western India-Pakistan international border in Jaisalmer from Saturday.
The entire western border from Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Punjab and Gujarat has been put on high alert. The exercise which was to start from January 17 was preponed keeping in mind the Republic Day celebrations on January 26.
BSF Rajasthan officials say the current scenario in the country has added to the foggy, misty and cold conditions, which often allow infiltrators to pass through unnoticed. To curb such activities, BSF has advanced the date of its operation. The patrolling has also been increased. Vehicle and patrolling on foot will be increased with footprints that are checked twice a day to thrice a day to check for infiltrators.
Orders have been given to prevent any kind of infiltration and untoward activities.
