Jaipur, May 18: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) today conducted raids at the residence of Neeraj K. Pawan, senior bureaucrat and agriculture commissinoer of Rajasthan and three others for alleged irregularities in tendering process of National Rural Health Mission.
The raid started early this morning at seven locations in Jaipur including his Jagatpura residence and offices. The raid followed complaints of irregularities against Pawan during his tenure as additional director for NRHM.
Those under a cloud with Pawan are a middle man, accounts officer and store keeper at the NRHM office.
The 2003 batch IAS officer was posted as commissioner, Agriculture department a few months ago.
The ACB was investigating the complaints for the last six months on the 18 cases lodged regarding irregularities in the NRHM tender process.
A huge amount of foreign brand liquor and jewellery was reportedly recovered from Pawan’s residence.
Neeraj K. Pawan has been a centre of controversy earlier too with regard to buying computers with MNEREGA funds. ACB reportedly held a middleman name Ajeet Soni who played a key role in the tender process.
It is another big crackdown in Rajasthan after mining and petrol secretary Ashok Singhvi was arrested by ACB last September.
