Jaipur, May 31 : In a major decision, the Rajasthan government today released from duty resident doctors on strike with immediate effect. At least 1200 new doctors would be recruited to defuse the crisis created by the stir since Monday.
Health minister Rajendra Singh Rathore today directed that all resident doctors who are on strike be released from duty with immediate effect. At least 1000 resident doctors have joined the stir in five medical hospitals and colleges in the entire state. They have gone on strike demanding that their thesis should not be sent out for scrutiny.
Resident doctors play a major role in these medical college hospitals while being a resident doctor. But these resident doctors have been going on strike off and on for petty reasons, crippling the medical situation and causing inconvenience to patients.
So the state government this time has decided to recruit 1200 new doctors to tide over the crisis.
The doctors would be sent to their headquarters and the service of the first year resident doctors who have joined the stir would be terminated with immediate effect. The doctors in second and third year would be given six months more time for their exams.
All principals of medical colleges have been asked to recruit new doctors within three days time frame.
