Students showcase their Theatre Talent at JKK


The concluding ceremony of the month long theatre workshop conducted under the Junior Summer Camp of Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK) was held today at the Kendra’s Rangayan Auditorium. As many as 9 different plays, of around 10 to 15 minutes each, on various themes were staged by the students of the theatre workshop.


The plays were based on themes such as the Peshawar attack, contribution of Indian soldiers to the nation, dependency on mobile phones, encouraging kids to play outdoor games, among others. Over 300 students between 8 to 18 years participated in the event.


The programme started with the 10 groups introducing themselves with their group songs.


The groups had interesting names like Tikdi group or Chhutuku Mirchi who performed the play “Problem Solved” and “Tic Toc” respectively. The Play Daak Babu (cycle wale) was staged by the group Kale Kabootar. The group names as well as the songs have composed by the students themselves!


The play staged today will also be repeated at 3 pm and 7 pm tomorrow as well as at 7 pm on 19 June. Another play will also be presented on 19 June at 3 pm.
