Jaipur, Nov 17 : In these days of note ban and cash crunch, the Rajasthan government on Thursday announced an increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) by 7 per cent in the pay and pension of its eight-lakh employees and 3.5-lakh pensioners, that would be effective from July 1, 2016.
The DA till now was 125 percent of their salary. With this increase, the DA would now be 132% of their salary.
New DA would be paid to beneficiaries in their November salary, and the previous arrear would be deposited in the PF accounts.
With this, the state government would bear an extra financial burden of Rs 750 crore.
Whether the step is to boost the morale of the aam aadmi, is a question many are asking in this desert state.
