Jaipur, March 16. In its bid towards smart policing, Rajasthan police has pitched for a high-tech and state-of-the-art Abhay Command Centre.
Opened at Jaipur Commissionerate Headquarters on Thursday by Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, the new system is going to help better traffic or crowd management as well as crime control.
The state is going to have such command and control centres at all other six Divisional Headquarters by June this year. In the next phase, district headquarters would also be connected to these control centres.
Raje said Rajasthan had taken a lead in modernization of police and use of information technology in policing amongst the league of states like Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh etc.
Videos, call records and other data available at the centre could be analysed for identification or tracing criminals, forensic investigation, traffic management, crime detection and control of criminal activities against women.
