Jaipur, Nov 11: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) would be launching special banking facilities at home for elderly (for those above 70 years ) and specially-abled people from this December.
RBI’s move would bring relief to tens of thousands of elderly people who have to go to banks for petty banking tasks.
The Central bank while issuing the official order said: “Elderly and specially abled people use banking services less. We should make synergic effort to provide them banking services.”
The special banking facilities will involve cash withdrawal, cash deposit, delivery of cheque book and demand draft at home. In addition to it, documents related to KYC for elderly and specially abled people will be collected from their homes.
