Jaipur, Nov 13 : Common man heaved a sigh of relief as the doctors’ strike since the past seven days, cane to end after the doctors and government reached at the consensus relating to demands of doctors except the demand to to do a single shift in a day.
This demand of doctor to work in a single shift from eight in morning till two in the afternoon has been left upto the decision of Chief Minister.The end of the strike has brought relief to many patients who have been suffering due to crippled medical services.Doctors would be back to work from Monday. Government representatives who chaired the meeting were health minister of the state Kalicharan Saraf,secretary of Health Dept Venu Gupta, ACS Finance D.B Gupta,secretary of medical education Anand Kumar and state head of AIMU Ajay Chaudhary.
This demand of doctors to work in a single shift from 8 am in morning till 2 pm in the afternoon has been left to the decision of Chief Minister. Most doctors are expected to resume duty from Monday. Health minister of the state Kalicharan Saraf, secretary of Health Dept Veenu Gupta, ACS Finance D.B Gupta,secretary of medical education Anand Kumar and state head of AIMU Ajay Chaudhary were present during the talks.
Saraf said: “Strike has ended, medical services would resume and government is duty bound to extend medical services in the states”
Issues discussed in the meeting, which went for on seven hours included 33 demands of in-service doctors and also that of resident doctors.
Demands of in-service doctors which got a nod from the government are doctors will get increment of 10,000 grade pay on the completion of the service of 24 years and will receive grade pay of 8,700 on completion of 18 years of service.
