Jaipur, April 18. Rajasthan chief minister Vasundhara Raje today laid the foundation of country’s first panorama on Maharishi Parashuram at Matrakundia in Chittorgarh.
She said the state govt. has also announced a govt. holiday on Parashuram Jayanti.
Addressing the public after laying the foundation, she said old manuscripts conserved at Rajasthan Prachya Vidya Sansthan will be moved here once the panorama was ready. The manuscript was handed over to the chief minister by Onkar Singh Lakhawat, chief of Rajasthan Heritage Conservation and Promotion Authority.
The panorama will be built with an estimated cost of Rs.1.80 crores. Ms. Raje said though the coming days belong to technology but her government still laid emphasis on panoramas to let coming generations an exposure to our glorious past. A similar panorama on freedom fighters Rupaji-Kripaji will also come up at Bengu, near Chittorgarh, she added.
The state govt. has plans to renovate 125 religious places and build 39 panorams across the state.
