Jaipur, Aug 7: With the BJP turning the heat on almost four months before the Assembly elections, the state Congress seem to be losing out. So in a bid to match the BJP’s rolling electoral juggernaut, Congress president Rahul Gandhi would be in Jaipur for a day on August 11.
Here he will address the PCC delegates, Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee (RPCC) party President Sachin Pilot said and is likely to urge all Congressmen to work unitedly and put a strong fight for the forthcoming elections.
On Monday, a meeting called by Rahul Gandhi in New Delhi was attended by former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Pilot and state party incharge Avinash Pandey to discuss strategies and poll preparations for the Assembly elections this year and the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
Pandey said Rahul has directed the party leaders to avoid issuing any statement on chief ministerial face for the Assembly polls. “No matter how senior a leader, any unwanted comments on to-be CM face will not be tolerated,” Rahul is to have told the leaders.
