Army symphony band recital at Albert Hall
Jaipur, August 14. A recital by the Army Symphony Band was held at the Albert Hall on the eve of Independence Day.
All the performances, right from a stirring quick march playing Sare Jahan se Accha, the drummers call, the famous marching tune 100 Pipers, classical raag Yaman and devotional numbers simply mesmerized the audience and filled the atmosphere with patriotic fervour.
The band also presented Bollywood medley with popular numbers like Mera joota hai japani, pyar hua ikrar hua hai, Jai Ho and Ye hai Bombay meri jaan.
Organised by the Sapta Shakti Command, Major Ashok Kumar, Inspector of Army Bands, HQ South Western Command was the principal conductor of the programme.
The beautifully lit-up Albert Hall in the backdrop added a special effect to the musical performance. The programme concluded with the playing of the national anthem.
