Malpura remains tense


Jaipur, Aug 25 : Malpura in Rajasthan’s Tonk District continues to be tense. Curfew was imposed in Malpura town after clashes between kanwaria and members of a minority community erupted on Thursday.

Tension continued in Tonk district after a Tiranga yatra by BJP was cancelled. Stones were hurled and a vehicle and a shop were set on fire on Friday.

Section 144 of the had already been imposed in Malpura. Despite Section 144, an unruly mob gathered in the town and torched a shop.

Polie said they were dispersed them and curfew was imposed. Members of a minority community had attacked kanwariyas while they were passing through a Muslim-dominated area in Malpura on Thursday.
