Pakistan bound to return pilot says India

Yesterday, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, all of a sudden declared the release of Wing Commander Abhinandan, who was captured by Pakistani Armed Forces. The release came as a surprise to many Indians and the Indian Armed Forces. Pakistan described this release as a gesture of peace. But some officials said Pakistan was just following the Geneva Convention and nothing else, sooner than later Pakistan had to release the wing commander.


India on the other hand conducted a joint tri-service military press briefing. In this press briefing Indian Navy, Army and Airforce chose to expose Pakistani Airforce by showing evidence that Pakistani Airforce had used the F-16 jets in this operation. In this joint press conference officials showed the wreckage of the F-16 fighter jet that was shot down by the Indian Air Force’s MiG 21 Bison Aircraft, a supersonic jet fighter and interceptor aircraft.

On the other hand Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Shanti Swarup Puruskar said “pilot project” has just got over and the “real one” was still to be done.


While US president Donald Trump at the US-North Korea summit in Hanoi, Vietnam said that we were expecting some good news from India and Pakistan. This statement by the US president hinted towards some US interference. Also UAE prince telephoned Prime Minister Modi and the also  Saudi Arabia’s high commissioner met PM Modi. This international interference has lead to some de-escalation of the issue.
